A Doomstriker is a mighty rune weapon that was forged by the Dwarfs during the alternate timeline events of the game Warhammer: Age of Reckoning and entrusted to the elite regiment known as the "Oathbearers."
History[]
Upon hearing of the fall of Karak Eight Peaks to Greenskins, Thorgrim Grudgebearer ordered the creation of powerful new weapons not seen since the Golden Age of the Dwarfs. To forge more of these weapons, four resources were needed -- gromril from the Thunder Mountain, brightstone from the mines of Mount Gunbad, ore from the Bitterstone Mine near Ekrund and oathgold from the Marshes of Madness.[1a]
A special regiment called the "Oathbearers" was founded to ensure the retrieval of these resources and were granted the honour of being the first to wield the Doomstrikers in war.[1a] Each weapon forged by the smiths in Karaz-a-Karak strengthened the resolve of the Oathbearers, raising more and more regiments to join the fight.[1b]
Doomstrikers come in various variants, with one being a warhammer,[1a] while other examples are axes.[1c]
