"The Lady had spoken. Her crusade had begun."
- —The Knights of Bretonnia ride forth in aid of the Empire.[2]

A noble Crusader of Bretonnia.
The Crusaders of Bretonnia were the most numerous of Bretonnia's forces during the End Times, a last, great Errantry War, led by none other than Louen Leoncoeur himself.
History[]
Bretonnian knights were hard-bitten warriors, some of the finest and most dangerous cavalry troops in the entire World. When Gilles le Breton personally granted Louen leave for Errantry, those tidings had been met handsomely, and knights from across the realm had ridden through the wild nights to answer the call. Soon the heavy cavalry that made Bretonnia feared throughout the world had been unleashed. The road ahead would be dark, but the path was set.[2]
The Knights of Bretonnia on the march were a sight unequalled in the Old World. each warrior took with him three or four Warhorses, all draped in the finest caparisons and marked with the heraldic signs of a hundred different bloodlines. Squires and grooms came with them, and reeves, cooks, heralds, priests and a hundred other officials and servants. A vast train of baggage followed them all, carrying all the supplies and weaponry for a long campaign in the saddle. The whole cavalcade coursed through Bretonnia in a single, vast column.[2]
Fall of Altdorf[]
In stark contrast to the filthy, blood-stained soldiers filing from the gates of Altdorf, the Bretonnian cavalry that crested Bloodpine Ridge were still as resplendent as the day they had left their Castle. Bright caparisons and shining steel glowed radiantly in the light of the twin-tailed comet ahead, and the spirits of those who wore them glowed brightly too, buoyed by the chance to uphold the virtues of their realm. The corrupt and the evil would die on the points of a thousand lances, and the Empire would be rescued, forever in grateful awe of the brave riders that had come to their aid in their darkest hour.[1a]
