The Crimson River is a strange river of Araby through which blood flows, thanks to the favor of Khorne won in those lands by the Warriors of Chaos of the Gorehunt Tribe in 2103 IC.[1a]
History[]
In late 2103 IC, the Gorehunt Tribe decided to offer the skulls of the farthest lands to the Blood God, and they sailed the Great Ocean in their ships. When they were heading south, they crossed the desert kingdom of Araby. Although the men of the north did not exceed a hundred individuals and the armies of Araby numbered a thousand, the Warriors of Chaos conquered the land. The emirs of those distant kingdoms sent sentinel reinforcements and fierce spirits, but to his despair, Khorne's followers grew more determited with each battle.[1a]
The invaders turned these reinforcements into pools of blood that, as the days passed, coalesced and ran through the dunes like crimson streams. The emirs sent their elite escorts and cavalry regiments to take down these indomitable Warriors of Chaos, but to no avail. The Warriors of Chaos fought with a berserker rage, and the streams soon turned into a torrent.[1a]
Desperate, the emirs dispatched giant war beasts and numerous armies covered the dunes. It didn't take long for the torrent to turn into a river. Although almost all the Northmen were annihilated, their master Khorne was truly grateful, and since then the Crimson River crosses Araby as a testament to their sacrifice.[1a]
