Clan Ulliogtha, also known as House Ulliogtha is the largest and most important of Elftown's Sea Elf clans in Marienburg, headed by the quarter's governing exarch, Tarmonagh din-Ciobahn.[1a]
Because of the honour brought to the clan by Sullandiel Fartrader's role in the refounding of Sith Rionnasc, it is known as the asuBdon-Shathiras (noble-explorer) clan. Clan Ulliogtha owns the most ships of the eight clans of Elftown and has important trade contacts in the Lustrian interior, the Southlands and in Ind. It also has the most widespread dealings with the Marienburg's merchant houses, and tries to stay friendly with them all.[1a]
The High Elves of Ulthuan have traded with Grand Cathay since 699 IC, importing spices, silk, and jade. Likewise, trade from Ind has flowed through the local High Elven port of the City of Spires for centuries, brokered in the current age by the Sea Elves of House Ulliogtha.[2a]
The clan is in financial trouble because of recent shipping losses on the New World to Marienburg route. Two Sea Elf clippers laden with valuable trade goods have vanished in the past year with no trace, and the clan's agents are pressuring House Fooger to pay its claim.[1a]
