Changebringers on the field of battle float atop their Discs of Tzeentch to confront the foes of the Architect of Fate as depicted in Total War: Warhammer III.[1]

A Changebringer is a Daemonic Flamer of Tzeentch, the Chaos God of change and intrigue, that floats over the battlefield on a Daemonic Mount, a Disc of Tzeentch[1][2a]. These horrors will help the mortal and Daemonic forces of Tzeentch quickly reach their enemies in battle and keep the pressure on them from above by raining warpflame on their unfortunate victims below.[1]

Flamers are capable of a fair turn of speed, expelling gaseous ichor through the fungoid "skirt" at their base to bound and leap across the ground with considerable mischievous gusto. A Flamer uses its blazing limbs to hurl bolts of magical flame at the foe. This is not fire in its truest sense, but a roiling cloud of Chaos energy. It does not burn, but warps reality. A Flamer's victim might briefly feel invigorated, before collapsing into a writhing puddle of flesh.[1]

Role[]

Total War Warhammer III Changebringers

A Changebringer mounted on its Disc of Tzeentch as depicted in Total War: Warhammer III.[3]

A step up from standard Flamers of Tzeentch, Changebringers have the manoeuvrability, speed and agility to be able to fly across the battlefield, whilst ignoring any of the difficulties normally caused by terrain. Changebringers are one of the ultimate expressions of the chaotic nature of Tzeentch.[1]

Flamers of Tzeentch, which are usually comparatively slow and lumbering units in service to the Architect of Fate, take to the skies, benefitting from greatly increased manoeuvrability. Changebringers can rain down Tzeentchian fire from above, making them potent flying ranged units.[1]

Yet, Changebringers are still Flamers of Tzeentch at their core, and they benefit from the usual hallmarks of their Daemonic nature, including the ability of the warpslame to penetrate most armour to unleash horrific mutations upon their targets. However, due their newfound mobility, Changebringers lack some of the magical resilience possessed by their ground-based kin.[1]

Game History[]

Changebringers were introduced in Warhammer: Storm of Chaos as a flying cavalry unit for the Daemons of Chaos, but received no official model.
