"What happens if you breathe the dust?”

“First time, nothing. Second time, nothing. Sometimes lots of times and nothing. But if the carenna isn’t soaked enough times…” -- “All kinds of things happen. I’ve seen people who always have to be near the flour. When they’re too old to work making the pastries anymore, they shiver, they can’t eat, they cry like babies until they can come back and breathe the white dust. But not me.
"

Ariel de Courtivron asking to Pilar about the carenna[1]

The carenna flour is made by the maceration of its ground pods, the resulting substance is commonly used to make luxuries such as delicious pastries and cakes. Estalia is the major exporter of carenna, but the finest quality is that produced by Magrittans.[1]

Yet carenna preparation can be dangerous, as its white dust can cause strong addiction.[1]

If mixed with the olla milk, a pricy Arabyan flower, idyllic visions are induced in the consumer, but if the olla is contaminated it can be fatal.[1]
