The Bretonnian Embassy to the court of Emperor Karl Franz is housed in a large, round tower with guest wings in the Mauerblumchen district of Altdorf.[1a]
The first Bretonnian envoys to the Empire were Grail Damsels of the Lady of the Lake. But these figures weren't respected by Altdorfers, and so the Royarch of Bretonnia began appointing ambassadors from the nobility.[1a]
The previous Bretonnian ambassador to the Empire was the Comte de la Rougierre, an absurd Bretonnian Dwarf who may have been appointed simply to provoke Karl Franz. His successor is the savvy, respectable Louis Rochelle. Rochelle is not universally loved, however. Liepmund Holzkrug, the head of the Reikland's spy organisation the Black Chamber, believed him to be meddling in Imperial politics.[1a]
The embassy has a support staff which includes various scribes, servants, and Knights Errant.[1a] The embassy's cellarer is Gaston D'Albuisse, who is in fact the spymaster of Altdorf's ring of Les Sans Face, the Bretonnian spy circle.[1b]
