Borisursa

Illustration of Boris Ursa, the Forever Tzar

Boris Ursa was the legendary first tzar of the Kislevites, and is known by the current people of Kislev as the "Forever Tzar." Boris led the Gospodars through the Dark Lands, defeating the Orcs and Hobgoblins who gathered armies to destroy his peoples.[2d]

The legends of Kislev tell that one day the Forever Tzar shall rise from his sleep and lead the Kislevites to a final crushing victory against Chaos. The legends tell that Boris Ursa rode to battle on the back of a mighty black bear granted to him by the gods themselves.[2d] In 1500 IC, he led the Kislevite hordes over the Worlds Edge Mountains and declared the northern lands of the Old World as the Kingdom of the Kislevites.[2c] He founded the fortress-monastery of the Sons of Ursa.[3a]

In 1512 IC, Boris Ursa left the newly-fledged kingdom in the hands of his daughter Miska the Slaughterer.[2c]

Many years latter the Forever Tzar appeared in a dream to Tzar Alexandr Njevski, directing him to build Castle Alexandronov.[2a]

Beorg

Genealogical tree of Boris Ursa

Beorg Bearstruck descends directly from the Great Bear, a mysterious figure who is claimed as the original ancestor of over 15 generations of Bear-stricken and could be an ancestor of Boris Ursa. Ruprecht of Bearmark, the former Count of Talabecland, also claims descent from Boris.[1a]

Canon Conflict[]

Boris Ursa was a character referred to in the earliest depictions of Kislev (such as Citadel Journals 14 and 15, the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st Edition supplement Kislev - The Claw of the Great Bear and the Dogs of War 5th Edition army book) as the leader or "Khan-King" of the Gospodars who led their migration over the Worlds Edge Mountains and founded the Kingdom of Kislev.

The Kislevite lore of later editions makes no mention of Boris Ursa. Instead, it was Khan-Queen Miska herself who led the Gospodars across the mountains to conquer the future lands of Kislev. After suffering from a terrible vision of the future granted to her by the greatest nature spirit of the Motherland known as the Ancient Widow, Miska left the emerging nation in the care of her daughter Shoika before disappearing into the Chaos Wastes. Shoika concluded the Gospodar conquest of the lands that would become Kislev and became the first tzarina, declaring the establishment of the Tzardom of Kislev.
