Arabyan Dervishers are fanatical religious warriors found in the armies of Araby.[1a]

There are hundreds of different tribes of nomads in the great desert of Araby. Among these, the Arabyan Dervishers are considered some of the most notable units fielded in Arabyan armies. These sun-blackened, fanatical religious warriors are all too willing to die for their god Allah.[1a][2a][3a][5a]

Arabyan Dervishers are renowned for their fury and hatred of the Men of the Old World.[1a]

In battle, they fight either on foot or mounted on horseback, wielding swords and typically forgoing armour.[1a]

Role[]

Arabyan armies have access to a wide variety of troops, allowing their tactics to vary greatly from one battle to another. Unarmored horsemen are highly effective for skirmishing against enemy formations, waiting for the right moment to penetrate their lines and attack from the rear.[4a]

Camels and elephants also play a critical role. Elephants, in particular, make excellent battering rams, capable of breaking through solid blocks of enemy troops. These elephants can be supported by Arabyan infantry, while the Dervishers rush ahead to engage and disrupt advancing enemy units.[4a]

Trivia[]

A dervish was a religious mendicant in Islamic societies, who chose or accepted material poverty.
