Angaz Baradum was one of the battlefields where the War of the Beard was fought between the High Elves and the Dwarfs.

Located south of Black Fire Pass, in what are now the lands of the Border Princes, Angaz Baradum had been an abandoned iron mine, its heath stretched into a vast plain of grassy tussocks. It was here that the armies of the Phoenix King Caledor II first made landfall to support the Elven colonies in the Old World under attack from the Dwarfs of the Karaz Ankor. Prince Snorri Halfhand lead his armies to face the High Elven king.[1a]

The two rulers agreed to solve the matter through a personal duel. During this combat, Caledor II mercilessly battered the Dwarf prince, gutted him and took his mangled hand as a trophy.[1a] The result was a vicious battle between the enraged Dwarfs under the leadership of Morgrim Bargrum and the High Elves seeking to protect their king. It ended with the Elves retreating back on their ships, while the Dwarfs took the mangled body of their prince home to mourn.[1a]
