Almagora is a port town of the Kingdom of Cantonia in south-eastern Estalia.[2a][3a]
History[]
In 2517 IC Almagora was assaulted by an Orc raid. Three Greenskin Drillakillas, captained by Kaptain Drok da Bad'un, commander of the Gut Split, Grim da Mangler of the Stunty Squasha, and Grom of the Big Spike were met in a sea battle by the forces present in the town.[3b]
The Orcs were utterly destroyed and a Greenskin head was taken as a trophy by the victors.[3b]
Notable Locations[]
The Orc's Head[]
The Orc's Head is a great, squat, and ugly tavern.[3b]
The poorly painted sign above its door, shaped like some crude approximation of its namesake, was replaced with an actual Orc's head captured during the Orc raid of 2517 IC.[3b]
However, sailors from as far afield as Marienburg and Araby crowd its benches, enjoying goblets of red Estalian wine. The tavern also serves fine Dwarf brew that kicks like an Ogre but is worth it.[3b]
Game History[]
Almagora was originally a fan-made settlement created by the freelance writer Alfred Nuñez Jr.. The town was mentioned for the first time in the computer game Man O' War: Corsair, and confirmed in Warhammer canon with the release of Warhammer: The Old World.[1]
At the time of the release of Man O' War: Corsair only Bilbali and Magritta were considered canon kingdoms of Estalia. So Almagora was shown as a settlement under Magrittan influence.[2a] The plot of the single-player campaign in Man O' War: Corsair is set in the year 2517 IC and all information about Almagora thus comes from that era.[3a]
More information about Almagora can be found on Alfred Nuñez Jr.'s website, but the canonicity of this additional lore has not yet been confirmed by Games Workshop.
