Yeah in Masters of Stone and Steel, Barudin was willing to do more than just fuck up some Humans over a grudge,
You see an Empire noble named Vessel made a deal with Barudin's father to fight together as allies to face Greenskins attacking the moot which were near vessel's lands, The Dwarfs only agreed because they were paid with chests of treasure and because the warband of greenskins were known to the Dwarfs and had grudges placed upon them.
However, once the Greenskins showed up, Vessel and his army bailed, leaving the Dwarfs and the Half-lings to their fates, The Dwarfs won of course but they lost their king in the process, which happens only because Vessel bailed like a coward.
So Vessel was not only an oathbreaker ( which is the worst conceivable thing in creation to them), but he also got their king slain due to his cowardice. So a grudge was written by Barudin to take the life of Vessel for this offense, However the King had his own grudges that had to be struck out by Barudin before he could pursue his own or else the ancestors won't allow him into their halls due to the shame of lost honor.
Also Barudin also couldn't simply stop managing the day to day affairs of the Kingdom he inherited and he also had to fend off attacks by Skaven and other enemies. Which took up the vast majority of his time.
So by the time Barudin found the time to strike out his grudge, Vessel had long since died and his grandson who by the way had no knowledge on his grandfather's sins inherited the grudge debt, which is death.
He obviously tried to parley with the Dwarfs to spare his life but the Dwarfs didn't care and replied to the messenger who spoke on his lord's behalf for him to come out and die or they will lay waste to the city, killing everyone inside, man, woman, child, healthy, ill, innocent or guilty.
All would die because the descendant of the man whom the grudge was written over was in control of the city and wouldn't come out to face execution over his grandfathers' sin of breaking an oath to the same Dwarfs.
So don't ever screw over a Dwarf! or else!
